Fishing Report.
In general all fishing has remained about the same as last week. Bluegill and bass are on their beds in many areas and are being caught in shallow water near spawning areas. Most bass are on the beds or already coming off of them.. Cat fishing has picked up just about everywhere.
Farm Pond and pit fishing report
A good bluegill bite. Bluegill are on the beds. Bee moth and red worms for bluegill. I've several limits of bluegill being caught. The crappie spawn is about done. It's hit and miss for crappie. Bobber & minnows seem to be the best bait. Some small bass being caught on plastic jerk baits and rattletraps. Bass being taken this week in shallow water around wood structure and emerging weed lines. Bigger bass are a little deeper being taken on plastics. Bass are on the beds, or moving off of them. Bass are being caught in shallow water near spawning grounds. Use polarized sunglass'es to spot them.
Martinsville City Park fishing report
I did hear of a 23 lb. flathead being caught. First flathead I've heard about from there in a long time. Bluegill and bass have been moving into shallow water. Small bluegill are on beds. Lots of small dink crappie and bluegill are being caught on minnows, red worms, and bee moth. Most bass are small and on the beds. I think some have already spawned and are moving out. The crappie are done spawning and the bite for them has slowed down.
Hubbard's Pay Lake fishing report
Fishing has been good at night. Some big fish are being taken at Hubbard's Pay Lake near Mooresville Indiana. Blue catfish, channel cats, and carp are all being caught. Fishing has been improving.
White River fishing report:
A couple nice flatheads being taken in the between Martinsville and Spencer areas of the river using live bluegill, skipjack, and livers as bait. A few small channel cats being taken on nightcrawlers and stink baits. Smallmouth bass are hitting small crankbaits and in-line spinners such as Rooster tails. Road-runners are effective too !
White River at State road 67 near the IPL dam
No change: Some very small bass being taken out of the river here. A few carp and buffalo carp being taken from this area, along with a few small channel cats and dink bluegill. Lot's of trash in this area that anglers are leaving behind.
Patton Lake fishing report
Mostly smaller bluegill now, but some goods ones still hitting on crickets. Bluegill are bedding. Fish with crickets, redworms and bee moth. Crappie fishing has slowed and fish have begun moving deeper. They are done spawning. They have been catching some big carp below the dam. Bass fishing has improved and fish are hitting on spinnerbaits. Bass are on the beds. Some have already spawned and moving out. A poor bite for catfish, except for when we had that hard rain. Some yellow belly catfish being caught on nightcrawlers.
NOTE: If you hit the lake right after a very heavy rain, go to the shallow end of the lake where Lambs creek flows into the main lake. Stay out of the current as trees, and other debris flow into the lake there. Use heavy weights and cast into the currents and you'll catch some very nice channel cats here. This only works after a very hard rain while waters flowing into the lake.
Painted Hills fishing report
Bluegill are being caught and are on the nest. Crickets are catching them. A few channel cats are being caught on nightcrawlers, cut bait, minnows, and shrimp. Crappie fishing has slowed. Crappie are done spawning. Bass fishing has improved. Bass are being caught in shallow water near spawning areas. Some bass are on the beds. Some bass are done spawning.
Fox Cliff Lakes. Fox Cliff fishing report
