$250,000 REWARD Lauren Spierer - IU student goes missing
The family has increased the reward to $250,000. 2/24/2012
At Indiana University in Bloomington, something terrible has happened that is every parents worst nightmare - Lauren Speirer, a 20 year old sophomore has gone missing. The accounts so far have her last seen out with friends at a local bar and then alone on the street barefoot and without her keys and cellphone. What actually happened is still a mystery - it is now the 4th day of the search.
When we send our kids off to college we do so with a leap of faith. Faith in them and in us that we have instilled in them the valuable lessons of safety and security. Such concepts of stranger danger and making sure they are never alone are primary in those lessons. In addition, although we all know about the rampant drinking that goes on on the college campuses, we also tell our girls, especially, that to lose control could have extreme consequences. From date rape to these parents nightmare of a daughter gone missing.
And so,our thought and prayers are with Lauren's parents. We hope for them that they find Lauren soon and that she is alive and well.
